I chose a home-based setup on purpose. Many pets do fine in a busy salon. Many do not. A lobby full of other animals, bright lights, and several dryers going at once is a lot to ask of a nervous dog or a cat who already dislikes leaving the house. In my home, your pet is the one I am working with. The schedule stays unhurried, and I can pay attention to the animal in front of me.
When I meet a pet for the first time, I want to know who they are. I ask about the coat, the habits, and anything that makes them uneasy. Some dogs want to stand the whole time. Some need a slower start and a break to shake off. Cats often do better when the handling stays quiet and predictable. I work with patience, and I keep my hands gentle. If a pet needs a pause, we take one. A haircut that looks lovely and felt awful is not a success in my book.
Getting to know each pet is the part of this work I care about most. When the same person grooms your dog or cat each visit, we build a routine. I remember the length you like, the spots that mat, and the way your dog prefers to be held for nails. You should not have to re-explain your pet every time you walk in the door.
I also know why people hesitate. Price and trust come up in almost every first conversation, and both are fair. You are handing over a family member, and you want to understand the cost before you commit. I do not publish one price for every pet, because a doodle with a matted coat is a different appointment from a short-haired dog who needs a bath and nails. When you reach out, tell me the breed, the size, and what the coat is doing. I will give you a clear quote. If something about the coat would change the visit, I will say so before we start.
Communication is how that trust gets built. I respond within 24 hours. After you send the form or call (313) 438-3634, I reach out to confirm the details and find a time. Questions are welcome before the appointment and after it. If I notice something on the skin, the ears, or a nail that looks painful, I will tell you to check with your veterinarian. I groom. I do not diagnose.
Jenny's House of Paws is a small business by design. I am the groomer. Dogs and cats are both welcome. The work includes full dog grooming, haircuts and breed trims, baths, nail clipping, ear cleaning, cat grooming, and spa packages with facials, shampoo, and paw lotion. If you want to read more before you call, the services page walks through each visit, and the blog covers bathing schedules, nail trims, and ear cleaning.
If you are looking for dog grooming in Dearborn, I would be glad to meet your pet. Call (313) 438-3634 or send a note through the booking form. I will be in touch within a day.
